Sorority Collects Pink Yoplait Lids to Fight Cancer

October 12, 2007 -The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at West Virginia Wesleyan College are actively participating in the Save Lids to Save Lives program. Yoplait yogurt and the ZTA Foundation have partnered again to raise funds for breast cancer education and awareness. For each pink yogurt lid collected, Yoplait will donate ten cents to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and an additional five cents to the ZTA Foundation.

The Wesleyan chapter has placed collection lids at the following Buckhannon area merchants: Curves, Daily Grind, French A. See Dining Center, Kroger, and Stockert Youth Center. The project is part of the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Wesleyan’s Delta Upsilon Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha received the “Crown Chapter” award last summer by Zeta’s National Council. This was the fourth consecutive year the Wesleyan group received this prestigious award. The sisters’ consistent support for their philanthropy, the Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) Foundation’s breast cancer education and awareness project, is one of the most visible reasons for their chapter awards.
