In February of 2005, the Greek community learned that West Virginia Wesleyan College can not bill and collect rent monies for members that live in fraternity housing due to liability concerns that are raised by the insurance carrier of the college. Fraternity Housing Corporations now faced a return to old rent collection practices that were time consuming to perform by volunteer alumni.
John Bohman of Alpha Sigma Phi, along with the assistance of Keith Buchanan of Theta Chi, Dennis Xander of Chi Phi, and the company's first employee, Briana Marino of Zeta Tau Alpha worked to form West Virginia Greek Management Inc. on May 15, 2005. Dennis Xander and Keith Buchanan negotiated major agreements with financial institutions and the CFO's office of the college, laying the foundation for the organization. John Bohman, with the assistance of Briana Marino, created the corporation, developing contracts and policies, along with coordinating an ongoing successful working relationship with the business office. This connection was instrumental in the development of practices which would assist our company in achieving a very successful first year and for that West Virginia Greek Management owes the school a debt of gratitude for its current successes.
Today, West Virginia Greek Management has expanded to provide a wide array of services all chapters may choose from such as: fire alarm and safety inspection, electrical, plumbing, lawn care, collection of undergraduate dues, professional consultants for recruitment, and providing public relations services to alumni and undergraduate chapters.
West Virginia Greek Management's mission is to assist in providing the Greek Community with universal services that will allow the community to be successful in meeting best practice minimums and provide an atmosphere of limitless possibility for growth with alumni, college, and national offices.
