We would like to welcome all alumni of the West Virginia Wesleyan Greek Community to WV Greek Management Inc. One of our biggest focuses is on the alumni. We see it as our goal to find ways in serving you better and finding new ways of keeping you updated on all things Greek here at WVWC.
One exciting new addition to the Greek community is THE GREEK FOUNDATION. Founded in spring 2007 by John Bohman and Ashley Hodak, with the assistance of the accounting firm Kania & Associates, the Foundation was set up with the sole purpose to raise funds for the Greek community through its various programs.
The first of these programs is the GREEK/WESLEYAN INITIATIVE. One of the promises of the Foundation is to always have a fundraiser to assist the college in its major fundraising. Currently, the Foundation is working to raise the $150,000 promise towards to construction of the Law Center for the Performing Arts. Following the completion of this fundraiser, the Foundation will choose another major project, such as the expansion of the Christopher Hall of Sciences.
The “HIT THE BOOKS TO GET THE BOOKS” PROGRAM was set up to encourage further academic excellence within the Greek community. Each semester any student with a 4.0 semester GPA and a 3.75 cumulative GPA will be awarded a $200 book voucher.
The LIBRARY FUND FOR FIRE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS was created to assist Fraternities in making fire safety and infrastructure improvements on their houses. Money contributed to this fund is tax free.
The GREEK SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND was an already existing program through the WVWC Advancement Office. These monies can be made available to all undergraduate members who apply. The Foundation works in partnership with the Advancement office for this program.
The SENIOR GIFT PROGRAM was created to give leaving senior an opportunity to give back to both the Greek community and West Virginia Wesleyan College. During their last semester, each Greek senior will be asked to donate $10. Half of this will go towards the Greek Foundation and its various programs. The other half will go towards a large donation fund made in the form of a check during the senior award ceremony on Spring Weekend.
If you are interested in making a donation to any of the programs listed above or simply want to make a general donation, please click the “Make A Donation” link above.
As always, we thank you for your continued interest and support of the West Virginia Wesleyan Greek community. Check back often for news and updates!
